Joe Moran

Joe has been in public practice for 16 years and over that time has built a large and diverse client base who value his expertise in taxation matters, business management, investments strategies and financial management accounting.

Joe likes to build close relationships with his business clients to the point that he is regarded as part of the company. This has proven to be a successful approach as he has achieved great success in assisting clients to grow their business. One of his key strengths is budget development and management.

As the father of three young children Joe does not have a lot of spare time outside the office but what is available is either spent with friends or family, on the golf course, doing some running and supporting the Pies!

Zeina Moran

Zeina began working with Peter Moran & Co, now Moran Accountants, after graduating from Monash University more than 30 years ago. During that time Zeina has built a substantial client base who seek her advice regarding strategic planning, business management and taxation matters. An advocate of good corporate governance, Zeina also provides audit services for all types and sizes of business including not-for-profit organisations.

Within Moran Accountants Zeina, a Registered Auditor, is responsible for the Audit division of the firm.

Note: Zeina and Lily are identical twins. While other staff are generally able to tell them apart, confusion is the norm with clients.

Lily has over 27 years accounting experience.

Lily’s expertise lies in the areas of taxation, business management and superannuation. She loves to work with and get to know her clients enabling her to offer them the best service possible. Recognising their needs, their strengths and their weaknesses helps to achieve this goal.

Outside of work Lily is a keen cook and spend time with her family. She relaxes by taking long walks.

Vivek Agarwal

Vivek has worked at Moran Accountants since 2007 and specialises in taxation matters including GST, PAYG and income tax audits. He is committed to being up-to-date on legislative changes and places great emphasis on his continuing professional development to enhance his skills and ensure his clients are getting the best information and service possible.

Vivek’s experience includes running a textile manufacturing business in India and employment in the advertising and telecommunication industries. As a result he has built a diverse client base that values his calm yet friendly manner and his considered opinion and assistance with their financial matters. Vivek believes his success is due to his ability to understand and clarify his client’s business objectives and taxation requirements. Consequently he has strong personal relationships with his clients who respond to his positive attitude and the personal service he delivers.

Outside of Moran Accountants, Vivek is involved with a number of community organisations and relaxes by spending time with family and friends.

Sandy Barnes

As one of Moran’s accountants, Sandy focuses on providing quality and up-to-date advice to all her clients. As a member of CPA for over 15 years, she is able to assist in all aspects of general practice but in particular individuals, small business and self-managed super funds. She has the ability to identify the needs of her clients and subsequently has developed strong relationships with her varied client base. Outside of work Sandy enjoys the beach, keeping fit and long walks with her dogs and family.

Anton Fernando

Anton commenced work with Moran Chartered Accountants in 2016 having recently graduated from Victoria University in Masters in Business Finance and Administration. He started his carrier as a banker and brings with him a vast array of experience through his work in the banking and audit sector with Earnest & Young Sri Lanka. His attention to detail and knowledge of Financial Accounting and taxation issues is exemplary which is reflected in his “no stone is left unturned” attitude.

Anton has quickly become the practice specialist in MYOB, Xero and other cloud based applications and is always ready to tackle complex and detailed issues.

As a Sri Lankan national he is passionate about cricket and enjoys his weekends watching movies, spending time with two kids & family, and friends, by visiting the wide and varied eating establishments Melbourne has to offer.

Kal De Silva

Kal completed his Internship practical training with KPMG Sri Lanka and then worked in Commercial sector for 3 years. He migrated from Sri Lanka to Australia in 2014 and gathered experience working as an outsourced Financial Accountant/ Bookkeeper in entities in real estate industry, Hospitality industry, Wine Industry. Kal also has extensive experience in working with MYOB and Xero Accounting software.

He Joined with Moran Accountants in 2017 as an Accountant and assisted in Taxation matters of PAYG, GST, Capital Gain Tax, Superannuation Audits, outsourced Payroll Management.

In his Leisure time, he plays cricket and likes to involve with family, friends and coordinating community events.

Claire Malbas

Accountant

Claire’s experience working as a secretary/accounts clerk for a private company gave her a strong grounding in the basics of administration and accounting and she has developed these skills to a high degree during the 22 years she has worked at Moran Accountants. Claire assists the accounting team with a range of administrative and accounting tasks including data entry of receipts and payments, preparation of profit & loss and balance sheets, tax returns and business activity statements.

Julie Dacumos

Admin Assistant

Julie has worked at Moran Accountants since 1988. She is involved in all facets of the administration teams’ duties. She manages and administers all the corporate affairs of our clients.

Julie loves spending time with family as well as travelling. She plans to continue to explore the beauty of Australia and to travel to other parts of the world.

Sharon Kern

Receptionist / Admin Assistant

Sharon brings her diverse and vast experience in administration to Moran Accounting. Everything from working in the Marketing and Advertising industries in Sri Lanka to a Medical practice and Early Childhood organisation here in Melbourne. Next time you call, say hello to Sharon, she is here to help you with a smile.

Sharon enjoys going for walks, bike riding and heading off to the gym for a workout.

Elena Pernasilici

Elena’s work experience spans over 30 years. This includes working for a large Legal Firm (Corporate Law), hospitality and retail.

Elena is also the owner of a small Event Styling & Management business.

In her spare time. Elena enjoys arts & crafts, travelling, reading and spending time with family and friends.
